International Watch and Jewelry Guild Trade Show Report

Las Vegas, NV
October 10-11, 2004

- by B. Bullock, President

We were very pleased with our October Vegas show. Over 120 tables, plus 10 new members signed up. The Italians and Mexicans did not come, they're waiting for the big 3-day show in New York the last of week October.

Prices were very strong on better merchandise. All big buyers were looking for large diamonds. 5 ct princess and rounds going for $**** p/c for nice SI1 stones. Better GIA certs over 1 ct going for **% to **% off.

Better platinum bracelets at $*** p/c. One dealer had twelve rolls of fine bracelets up to $**** p/c cost. They were selling strong. Fine color was selling. I saw large lots of cheap sell. These goods end up on the internet. All-in-all, it was a good buying and selling jewelry show.

Watches were strong for all sport Rolexes. Steel date Subs at $****. Yachtmasters still at $****, MINT. Daytonas at $**** to $**** new. Gold Subs not around. Gents 18k Presidents, nice, at $****, double-quicks at $****. Ladies and gents 18k/SS at $**** to $****, prices were up.

Many better brand watches sold at **% to **% off. These dealers are loaded with merchandise. It was a good watch show.

No security problems, as chief Whitaker and his men really have this show covered like a blanket. See you in New York!
