IWJG May 2012 Las Vegas Show Report

Let's wrap up IWJG Las Vegas Memorial Weekend 2012... What a show it was!!!

If you missed the Las Vegas May Show, we do not know what to tell you except you really missed a great show. From the opening on Monday morning until we threatened to turn the lights out on Tuesday night, the room was buzzing with electricity that made the hairs stand up on your arm. The room was stretched out to its largest configuration and it was full. We had (even with some dealers not there because of the Jewish Holiday) approximately 300 dealer tables on the floor and over 1,200 members and guests in attendance. We'll say it again... OVER 1,200 dealers and guests attended the International Watch and Jewelry Guild Show on Monday (Memorial Day) and Tuesday... The joint was jumpin'. What was selling? Just about anything and everything. The entire world is in flux financially but the dealers that had the right merchandise at the right prices were busy. Dealers looking to find merchandise had plenty to choose from. We are not seeing the glut of inventories like earlier in the year but there is plenty of quality merchandise. Modern is selling well (as usual) but we are seeing a definite pick up in vintage also. Diamonds? Anything with a cert was flying off the tables in Las Vegas and jewelry in general was hot at this show. Enough from us here is what our members told us at the end of the show...

Newton Ng, Tommy LaBret, Keith LeClerc, Robert Matatov, John Buckley, Jack Tawil, Don Breier, Joe Akar, Eric Boneta, John Buckley, Jack Weir, Roman Sharf and Arthur Zharsky all reported that they had a Very Good Show in watches. Other watch dealers checking in with good solid show reports were Mark Nance, Greg Esses and Ronnie Bullock. Diamond and Jewelry reports were good as well. Brett Koppelman, Andy Yasparro, Alex Roiz , Gary Taskin, Todd Jones, Jerry Hogan, Terry Kaplan all checked in with Very Good Show reports. Dealers Byron Eder, Bobby Arena and Ed Ticheli thought the show was a little flat, but other dealers had different reports. Fred Hakimian said it was great and he had never before seen a show with so much energy and action. David Finebilt said "great show maybe his best." Gabe Arik reported a very, very good show. Vadim Krivitsky reported that this was a very good show for him. Adrian Kleiman was smiling over the results from his show (said his Buddah was smiling too) and Ron Gewiniger reported that Las Vegas was "as good as it gets." All we know is there was plenty of merchandise and plenty of dealers in attendance... Conclusion, Las Vegas was a very good show for the majority of our dealers. Don't miss a show because they all have dealers that buy and sell watches and jewelry and you do not want to miss out. Go Team!
